What's the current resolution at? I've tried one of those ones where you put in your phone - 1080p is definitely not enough. 4K a must I'd say.

Now is a pretty stupid time to buy VR stuff unless you've got lots of disposable income. VR headsets are going to get way better with generation 2 & 3, the hardware needed to power them is getting more powerful and VR-optimised and the cost of said hardware is getting cheaper. Also, there's not much to play in VR atm.

VR is going to be epic, but it needs another year or two.

I wouldn't buy a Rift anyway. HTC Vive looks like the better option. Although it's also not a great value proposition atm.

When games like Far Cry, GTA, Red Dead, Elder Scrolls etc have VR support I'll be on that scene like white on rice.
