Odd problem with MCE XP

I've got an odd problem with my HTPC, when I browse through the video folders the navigation (arrow) keys stop working. I thought it might have just been my Logitech harmony remote but it also happens on the old MCE remote too, I can use all the other buttons except for the navigation keys. If I quite the Media Centre and try use the navigation keys to scroll up and down files in explorer it works fine.

Any ideas?
 
Do you have the rollup 2 update installed?
Not that it would necessarily fix the problem, because it's quite odd, but it never hurts to try.

Yeah its up to date, its a real headscratcher cos the only difference between now and before is that I've moved all my media to one 1TB drive, its been working fine for over a month but I thought maybe it was something to do with it generating thumbnails, so I tried the keyboard and that worked fine. From my understanding the arrow keys on the MCE remote are the same as the arrow keys on the keyboard.
 
Have you installed any new software?
Do a trial by moving a couple of GB worth of media to another drive and see if it does the same.
