Odd Request - HP Compaq nc8230

Hi guys

I am in cape town and my wifes pc has stopped working now power..

its a HP NC8230 .. I have a suspicions that the charges has broker..

I am looking for anyone who ahs a only one they want to sell or perhaps they could meet with me and we could check if the laptop would charge ?

So when you plug the power adapter in no lights come on on the laptop and you can't switch it on?
What happens if you remove the battery and just try it with the power adapter?
Do you have a multimeter?

Post the specs listed on the power adapter, even better take a pic of the label and post it here.

Should be [email protected] with a 4.75MM*1.75MM connector. If you have access to any other adapter with 19V output and delivering 4.7A or more of current with the same size connector you can use it to test with, these things are pretty universal. Any of the laptop models listed in this link http://www.laptopaccessories.co.za/3_Compatible_List-detail_2.php?pid=1141 will have compatible adapters.

kilobits or postmanpot might even have some lying around.

Thanks Mate. Wish I had a multi meter... might see if I can bottor one..

No LED on the transformer and I tried without the battery... might have to try and see if I can find a multimeter..

Hope the Laptop aint toast..... mis post just got a call from a mate.. who happend to have aa multimeter... gonna test tonight
