Hi evrybody, I want to signup for a month to month uncapped form ODS (R627 inc vat), I used to use the openweb express uncapped 384k but it is now heavily throttled (it is effectively a 192k uncapped if you dowload a lot of stuff).
They told me that I need to pay R999 so that they can give me their pre-configured router and It comes with 5 fixed IP addresses and they dont throtle p2p (that's what they told me).
Sorry for the long post basically I just need to know if there is anything better out there.

ive been wondering the same thing. With the drop in the is newsserver quality, it seems that it may make sense to go for the 192k uncapped from ods.

This would give me 20k on saix, aswell as international. My maths may have been wrong, but i think i would be able to download roughly 50g on that account. Its tempting.

Is their speed slow or is it just their customer service or is there something else, please advice, and thanks for the resposes.
they claim that the account are fibre based.
I've checked many websites and so far I could not find anything better than theirs well except X-DSL which comes close.
Jak3 that is roughly my calculations as well I cant stop downloading stuff thus I spend too much money on normal accounts like the 1gb topup from webafrica that is an excellent service to anextent that I overuse it
(I spent R420 this month trying to behave) which is why the R627 from ODS does not seem that bad.

Roo.

Without giving details I think it is unfair to slate a company, please PM me or list the reasons publicly, I am happy to help with any problems you have had ?

Hi I've also noticed that X-DSL have a similar 192K Uncapped for the same price as ods using their "own backbone" and , how is x-dsl service in this regard, by the was their website has been donw for over an hour now and I dont have their tel no thus I cannot confirm this info since I last checked it last week.

No, once again, I am a reseller, the reason I object to this comment is that it would directly affect my sales as well. I also find comments like these to be unfounded as I did work at ODS and we prided ourselves on service.

So you are happy to do support for a company you don't work for? Wow, that's impessive

I see that X-DSL 192k uncapped has got a "a local standard 75% and 25% international bandwidth split", will this give me problems when I download international torrents & I usually browse and download from international sites..

Matt.

If you have a problem with me, please feel free to call me, however throwing your comments around on a public forum are childish.

"Roo! Don't go ODS, they SUCK, seriously SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't say SUCK enough!!!!!!"

without factual points on why - it didn't happen or doesn't exist.

I sense something personal here rather than advice on a business product. Did some one at ODS steal your girl friend and this is your way at getting back?

To complain as such just shows childishness, rather back up your arguments with some solid proof.
