Hi guys.

We're thinking of getting an Online Digital Solutions Fiber Plus package from ODS.

Can you guys give me some feedback with regards to their service - both client and connectivity?

We're getting the fiber package so I can get decent pings for World of Warcraft. I was told that I'd get between 200 and 399ms pings. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm going to try and get a test account to check it out, but I just want to make sure that they're good before we sign up with them.

Thanks in advance for the help.

i'm currently on the 512k fibre package but only for the last couple of days
there was (is) still a bit of teething problems but i will give feedback as soon as everything is sorted

It would be nice to get some customer feedback as I've applied for a telephone line so I can get ADSL. I hope they have a 24 hour call centre.

Hi guys.

We're thinking of getting an Online Digital Solutions Fiber Plus package from ODS.

Been using ODS for about 6 months now - no real problems, seems a good ISP / data provider to have. When there were problems, it was usually originating from you-know-who-kom and line /DSLAM / cable failures. Although we dont use it for online gaming, we cant complain about latency / ping times at all, being on the uncapped 512 option. If you want me to ping a server as a test, give the IP and i'll post results.

I'm happy. Not looking around for another provider.

How does their fibre options compare to the IS business DSL. We're using IS Business DSL on Sat and it is horrifically slow.

As always, the distance the server is from you is the critical part. The good ol' tracert command in windows. My DSl with them is actually on the IS backbone, if that says something ;-)
LoL @ your signature.

Ah, so you have the IS Fiber option? Okay.

Well, I'm going to ask them for a test username and password and take it from there.

As for my signature - it ain't funny! I would! :D

Speak to Marco @ ODS - nice chap, very helpful. Might wax you a test/temp account.

Ods Warning

Don't touch ods with a twenty foot barge pole. they don't EVER return a phone call they promised to, nor respond to emails when youre having a problem, not even the boss (although thats probably understandable as the boss sets the culture tone for a company).

On a business uncapped fixed ip - for the last month this has been waaay substandard and nothing has been done to improve it or make an alternative plan. can't even send an email most of the time.

Total @#$%^&* crap. i get way better service from telkom. so its cheers ods - i definitely do not recommend them at all!

I have also had these problems with my account with ODS, I have a 512K Business Account and its also been extremely slow since August. I have emailed as well and never get response back only form a guy there Marco (he has been very helpful) as for the boss and accounts dept I wont go there.

My bandwith reading is between 150K & 300K and my downloads are between 15kbps & 40kbps and I have a 4mb line with telkom so I should be using the full 512k if not more.

Guys, any of you using their "gaming" fibre solution to play WoW on? If so, could you give some feedback on the latency you are having.
