Two men‚ one a policeman‚ were arrested moments after allegedly robbing a man walking in Jeffreys Bay when their getaway car ran out of fuel.

The policeman‚ a 26-year-old constable based at Humansdorp operational command centre‚ was nabbed with his 22-year-old accomplice. Police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli said a man aged 30 had reported being robbed while walking to a friend’s house in Da Gama Street‚ Jeffreys Bay‚ at 2am on Tuesday morning.

Once a thief always a thief. Can put whatever uniform you want to on him but the leopard cannot change it's spots.

Well look at the petrol price. The only fair conclusion is that cops need to be paid more!!

Whatever happened to proper vetting procedures for certain job categories? These police officers are supposed to have a good moral compass and choose what is right, fair and just from any situation in order to apply the law fairly to the SA citizens that depends on them.

Yeah. Like the 80's, when we had officers like Andre Stander.

Just more proof of the idiots they allow into the SAPS and we hear too often the criminals are members of a Policing Department.

Police are human. They've always been like this.

Aside from the thieving am I the only one miffed we had such a moron in the police to begin with?

Seriously, not refueling the getaway car before a crime? Really?

For a moment I thought you were serious.

I am. Police officers were never angels you'd like to believe they were. They're worse now that they've had disjointed leadership (and perhaps an equally poor vetting process) in the past 10 years but they were never angels.

I'll say. I once had one pour two shots of a very fine single malt - Glenmorangie, and then top it up with pepsi...
