Hi,

Ever since school I have always dreamed of building my own off-road vehicle.
Well, during the past year I have done just that!
Of course as with all of these wild idea's, we always go about it halve-arsed :/
Now I have a nice buggy, and not really anywhere to go :(

Basically the only option I have at this moment is Atlantis Dunes. Problem is that my 400cc bike motor (Honda VFR 400 screamer) is a little bit weak in the loose sand. It goes and it goes well, but just too slow...
The local quad bike tracks, Dirt&Dust in Durbanville and Melkbos is a little bit on the small size to really work up a full head of steam.
Then the 4x4 guys is only looking for obstacles and not really fast off-roading. Done that too :)

What I am really looking for is some nice wide open gravel roads where I can really open her up!!!
Even with my hefty lump I think 120km/h is on the cards.

Unfortunately I cannot join the local rally fraternity as their cars have to be road legal. Mine is basically a quad with a roll cage.
The local 4x4 clubs also require road legal cars, ect....

Anybody have similar interests so we could maybe gang-up and have some fun?
Perhaps you know somewhere or somebody where I can go for a spin?
I am located in Kuilsrivier, CPT.

Search on YouTube for ""VFR 400 buggy"" and have a look what I have been up to....

Thanks

Sounds like fun!

Unfortunately I have no idea where you would be able to find such a place. Have you tried talking to some of the farmers in the Durbanville area? I think some of the Cape Rally tracks run over a few farms in the area, maybe they would allow you to go off the rails a bit on their tracks.

Hahaha, you know what bike motors cost these days?
For just a 1000cc bike motor you can easily buy a complete functioning 2nd hand car!

Still thinking about an Edge buggy with a 1000cc Vee twin motor, but where to drive it????
