Hi

How legally binding is an offer to purchase on a car?

I paid the holding deposit, received the offer to purchase from the dealership and used it to get finance approval and. I now get a phone call from the salesman that the agreed repairs to the car (windscreen replacement, etc.) are more expensive than they anticipated so they increasing the price of the car by ~10%. Looking on their website, the car is already advertised at a new, higher price.

What recourse do I have?

Read the offer to purchase, does it make provision for this? If not then they are breaching the contract and you could walk away.

Likewise if you are trying to hold them to it read the OTP, personally if it were me I would probably just walk away
