Hey there,

I recently bought a computer, which does not have Office 2003 service Pack 2 loaded. I am on dial up at home, and to download it will take about 3 hrs.
Does anyone know if I can buy the Service Pack 2?

Thanks

I don't think you can buy it. In my opinion it isin't really worth downloading

If you phone microsoft tollfree number, you will get through to their support centre. I have done it so for with Windows XP and Office 2003 and ordered the Service Pack on disk. They will send it to you. Just keep it in mind that we connect to the help centre in Germany. The last SP for Office 2003 arrived 2 days later, Fast service and good.

Andre1 is right, your best bet is to call Microsoft on 0860 2255 67
Good luck!

Find a large corporate you know that uses MS on site. Ask their IT techie to put it onto a CD for you. It isn't big. 105MB. It is a legal requirement to install. The main purpose of SP2 is to rid your MS files of illegally obtained code. They were sued by some company for a lot of money, because they had stolen their code for many of the algorithms used. Part of the ruling was that MS had to design there own code to replace the stolen code. The SP has the new MS code. Notice that came with my SP2 disk was that any company that uses a Volume licence is required to install the SP for legal reasons. So it isn't a useless install, but rather a required install. Basicaly I think it was that anyone who received the notice and ignored could themselves be sued by the same company for using code that they do not have a licence for. So I suggest running it. I'm sure in JHB you can find someone who can get it to you quickly
