Office 2007 hack

If you save a word doc, or excel doc (ppt i think also works) you will note it adds an x to it. eg .doc file now becomes a .docx file. if you rename that file to .zip and open it you will be amazed to find the new office files are XML files.

Microsoft using another standard but theirs? pretty cool.

It's a new document type, with lots of changes.
Caused lots of hyped earlier in the year due to MS deciding to change formats and making it proprietary

M$ Is still using their own standards called openxml.
