So I have had office 2008 for a while, just to read doc's and excel files. I did the 300 meg update that they suggested i do (did it yesterday) and now everytime i try to start a office product i get the error "microsoft office did not install correctly, please reinstall". Can Microsoft make any decent products ?

Office 2008 for Mac :(

I must say I agree. Don't much like Office 08 for Mac. I'd rather virtualize Windows for office. IWork is good though.

I am gonna reinstall this monster later tonight. Another problem I have is syncing address book to entourage contacts. My work seriously needs to upgrade to exchange 2007, then i can just use mail!

Sounds more like a MS issue. I installed Office 2008 and all updates two days ago on Snow Leopard - no issues here.
Tried reinstalling, telling me my product key is invalid!!! Mailed that BS company MS!
Yea, so they supposedly have a 1 business day turn around. Mailed 8am our time on Friday, got no reply yet (got an auto mail saying i will get a reply). Terrible service. When are they dropping office 2003 support, cos that will force work to get 2007 exchange, and then i wont need office!
I might be mistaken, but I think you can open office files using preview without having office or iwork installed. Forgot to mention i needed entourage. Main reason i use that **** as work hasn't got 2007 exchange yet from wat i am told, and mail didn't seem to be able to connect.
