Hi,

A friend of mine asked if I can get a Pro Plus license for her as they have decided to cancel their contract with the external IT company that installs the product and license key into said product.

To me it seems like the external company has a Microsoft Live account and they used to change the product key in the live account pending the expiry date of Office 365.

What I want is for my friends' company to rather have their own Microsoft Live account and give them the power to update their own licenses on an annual basis, instead of paying a 3rd party company an exorbitant amount of money for something that could've easily been done on their own.

Am I correct in thinking that a company can register for a Microsoft Live Account and purchase licenses for a pre-installed version of Pro Plus?

Is there a how to guide on how to change the current license to the new license without screwing up the process?
I want it to be a very smooth transition.

Don't see why not. I've got a 10% discount voucher if you'd like

Awesome, can I get it please :)

Contact Office 365 support they will be able to help you out: https://support.office.com/en-us/ar...870-8a8d-e25ba4ccfd4b?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US.

Alternatively, sign up for a new Office 365 account for the company, and just change the DNS settings for the domain and transfer the mailboxes, you just need the mailbox login details. Quite painless.

I am assuming that I sign up for a new company account at the link that you have provided?
Where do I change the DNS settings?

Is there a trial available for this before I actually make the purchase? I am referring to Office 365 Pro Plus.

R149 per user per month... GOD!.

How is this a better option than "Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 Retail" with a lifetime license?

This is the link for MS Office 365 Pro Plus evaluations. Try to get a 60-days temporary serial number and then see if you can change it on one of the computers. You'll probably just need to login with your new Microsoft account. You'll probably also need to transfer your files by hand off that OneDrive/Microsoft Cloud onto the new one.
