Hi

I am busy testing (trying to) Office Communicator but i am having some problems setting it up. I have a test server and a test pc. With Server 2003 and OCS 2007 server edition. i have managed to install every thing and all seems to be in working order, until i try to log in from the client.(xp pc) it seems to find the server but it gives me the following error:

" there was a problem verifying the server certificate, please contact your administrator"

I have followed every step from MS guides and i have googled till my fingers bled, but i cant seem to find an answer for this problem.

any help regarding OCS and this problem would be greatly appreciated.

who issued the cert? does the server name match the cert name? Did you import your side of the cert onto the client pc?

thanks for the quick reply. I issued the cert from a CA i set up on the server. No the name of the cert is not the same as the server, would that make a difference? and the cert gets importet to the client pc automatically as far as i can see, but i did also manually import it with no luck.

Make sure that your certs are correct. In the installation guide they have a section on creating the certs. When you install the client and connect to the server, the certs are automatically installed if I remeber correctly.

You will be amazed at what you can do with this piece of software! Every corporate should run this - it adds great value to the org!

Guys i need some one to walk me through the steps please, i have followed the guides word for word, i have created a hundred certs so far, and i have changed everything possible but with no luck. This is one of the errors that i receive on the pc wich i am trying to log in from " Communicator could not connect securely to server 192.168.7.116 because the certificate presented by the server was not trusted due to validation error 0x80090325. The issuing certificate authority (CA) for the server's certificate may not be locally trusted by the client, the certificate may be revoked, or the certificate may have expired. "
