Hi Guys,

Recently I was given a parking upstairs at my company and have to park in the sun / rain, where-as before I was parked undercover. Suffice to say somebody became a manager and I had to give up my parking due to some or other typical ****ty reason lol.

So I was wondering, how many people park in the sun / rain and how many of you park undercover? Would you pay for the privilege to park undercover, and if so, how much?

PS: I understand it's a privilege and not a right to park undercover.

I park in the Africa sun. I would pay for my car to be parked undercover. I hate it when it's out in the sun baking to a crisp.

Only our directors and managers have undercover parking.

most of the time my cars have parked outside in the sun all day. 2 cars I've owned had the roof lining collapse. get yourself a sunshade for the dashboard and crack open the windows to allow the hot interior air to escape.

I've also covered the rear window panel with a black towel and the leather seats with a sheet - the sun chews the shirt out of it, but saves the upholstery.

We have a first come first served policy at our office so i come in extremely early to ensure i get an underground parking. Its not the closest parking, we have open parking right in front of our building but i rather walk a bit further to the building next door where i get underground parking.

Undercover luckily enough - Black cars in the African sun are not a pleasant experience at the end of the day...

I park undercover, but I pay a fee every month for my parking. So I have a reserved parking.

We park in access controlled parking garage. Have to pay the company , whom I work for, R960 p/m for the privilege.

Underground, allocated bay. Had it since I started at the company (around 7.5 years)

Thanks a lot for the advice and thanks to everybody for the responses. This gives me a good idea regarding parking allocations at companies etc :)

I am at home or clients most of the time so park undercover whenever I can, at home its obviously in a garage
