Camping is difficult to address. Even more so if you have maps and weapons that facilitate sniping, as by it's nature, sniping usually implies a certain "immobility" (for want of a better word). So let's assume that the camping we're talking about is not strictly sniping but something like hiding in the shadows under a flight of stairs picking guys off as they come through a doorway.
You could have something where a guy shows up on the mini-map automatically if he is camping (health drain or insta-death seem a little extreme). The problem here is that, I assume camping will need to be defined by looking at a combination of time and area. What is the size of the area you need to be limited to and how much time must be spent in that area for it to be considered camping? If someone knows roughly the size of the area or the time limit, it's easy to move out of that area then back in after a certain time to prevent this from being considered camping.
Perhaps the areas FROM which your kills are achieved could be taken into account. When a game finishes it could take a look at where a player GOT his kills from. If yours are spread all over the map you score higher than a guy who got most of his kills from inside the same building each time. This would mean a team of guys camping could have exactly the same number of kills (or even more) than the other team, but still lose the game because of the camping. The fact that you don't know how your camping will affect your score until the game has ended might further serve to discourage camping.

I lol'd ...... it's a BO discussion thread, they're discussing an aspect of the game. The old adage - don't read it if all you're gonna do is moan springs to mind
 
I'm also looking at Crysis 2 and Homefront. Then BF3 :) Recently on BLOPS I've been running into aimbot hax and random lag. I think that homefront and crysis 2 will keep me occupied and I won't even bother about the BLOPS DLC. So the timing for those 2 games is critical. I don't wanna be tempted to try the DLC while waiting for Homefront.

LoL, was just about to say that.

I don't mind the camping. Like someone said earlier in this thread, If you kill me once, shame on you, if you kill me twice (from the same spot), shame on me. :D

I hate being called a camper, when I am not one, or when I have to be one (S&D).
IMO, it's not the easiest thing (camping) to do, since you will show up on the minimap when you shoot someone, there is the killcam after they have killed you and if you are camping, chances are you will be the only one alive in your team and then the whole other team will be looking for you (in S&D).

I don't care about the other game modes, since I don't play them. :p

Are you discussing an aspect of the game or moaning about campers? Pot & Kettle bru. Also, if you don't like how we play on our server - don't come and play on it...

Anyways I am not going to be sucked into this again.

Kyubi - get yourself Crysis 2, it is gonna be fun.

Ons het darem so paar rondtes gewen, maar dit was meer omdat hulle mekaar uitgehaal het as enige iets anders LOL...

PS- I don't play this shyte game, so stop making out like your server is the bees knees that everyone wants to play on.

Did I attack you personally? Talking about picking up stompies - You are the one wading in on someone else's posts. STFU if you have nothing constructive to say. I was referring to your words "The old adage - don't read it if all you're gonna do is moan springs to mind" Just as much I don't have to read your drivel - you don't have to partake in servers where you don't like the gameplay. So get off your little horse before you hurt yourself.

PS- IF you played this game you would have known that we have one of the busiest servers on BO. Not that you would know "Argh me matey!" Want an eye patch?
 
I love the continuous referral to the eye patch, it's cute ...... funny how I play on iGame and in DGL with said eye patch ne :rolleyes:

Go play on your server and let the grownups debate mkay ....... oh and fon't have too much of a hissy fit litey, you might rage and break something ;)
