I'm heading in this direction as well... I do throw in a bit of TDM on the RoS server to relax and chat.

I will get this third one, hmm let me see, map pack 3 for July/August, will get bored and will probably get the forth pack for September/October - Baastidz, should have had ten maps per pack, not 4 and a zoombie
November....MW3, unless MW3 is amazing and has something new i might not get it, all depends on how spectacular BF3 is.

so now if a map pack is playable in SA is decided by the server owners, if they dont use the FREE dlc which is given to them, nobody feels the need to buy them, so were all stuck bored to death playing boring map reruns, over and over, great, if this is the general attitude then fps games in SA will die off very soon, BF3 will be a huge fail and so will MW3, what will happen with MW3, will the server admin decide if we need the DLC for that too?

People complain about paying for a map pack( i have ) but will piss hundreds of rands down the drain every weekend getting pissed, spend 200 - 300 on a night out but R75 for a months entertainment is out of the question?

I totally agree with you. This already started on MW2, when, if someone didn't have the dlc, almost everyone would vote to skip the map.

R100 isn't a lot for the map pack, but it is a lot if you are the only that buys it and never get to play it. :crying:

I think it is more than that - a principal. You paid (some of us anyway) R500 for a half coded game that some people STILL can't play and then they still have the audacity to charge R100 a pop for regurgitated maps that are - actually - not worth it. I mean who enjoys Kowloon? And Berlin? What about Hotel?

The new maps suck AND they are milking a cow dying from the inside out. NGL it will be from now on. Holding thumbs for MW3...

I don't hold much hope for MW3... I for one will NOT be going back to competitive gaming where any one person has an advantage... The ping issue is already relevant on dedi servers... And now I must connect to someone else's 4mb line with 0.512 upload... Hahaaha. I think not. Let us also NOT forget that Telkom is STILL not peering with Mweb... Ffs. If mw3 doesn't have dedi servers I will not be buying it... I may give the single player a go, but that is it.

Promod maps are interesting, the definitely feel smoother and they are at least more like promod... But people... CoD4 was the original for promod, so please, expect blops promod to look, feel and play the same... :)

I would say I've had about a hundred rands worth of fun on the new maps, considering a movie for 2 with popcorn and slushies costs me more.

Hehe. That's a good way to put it... But in principle, why should we have to pay for extra maps when this game has been riddled with glitches from day 1!!! They should give us 5 new maps that WORK with no fps drop just to say sorry for all the k@k they have given us...

.... as PC players, consoles didn't really have too many issues specially not the xbox guys, and they get the maps first... We must realise that PC isn't their target market for Blops or MW3, I think there was a quote recently from Bobby Goatdick about it.

I lol'd....

I suppose that is true - but don't neglect them!!! I would rather play a ported game on PC than try and play a FPS online using a console!!!

Well well well...

Then I guess I will just stop supporting them at all.

I don't know if it they exist, but I will look for a publisher who focuses on pc only then... I'm not one for console and auto aim assist etc... And don't forget that the xbox matchmaking system in SA is really bad as most people who host have a maximum upload speed of 0.512mbps... That's shocking for online gaming... And at best, people have 1.024mbps upload which is definitely better, but still not great...

Please guys, remember mw2 and all its glitches... It was a great game, but died since people couldn't put up with the lag, and one player (the host) having a massive advantage over the others , but it would probably still be played by the majority of cod players if it had dedicated servers from the beginning...

Anyway... Seems like pc gaming is dying :'(

And the funny thing is, not really.....
The pc gaming community might be small, but they are a close knit, dedicated group, and will only stop playing on PC if no one creates PC games anymore.

As for the example of the pocorn, and movie.

Would you pay for a part of the movie again, that was'nt shown the first time???
Or a movie that was't watchable because of technical issues?

Come to think of it MW3 is definately out of the question, it too will be a multiple map pack extravaganza and if SA gamers wont buy them then ****it, to think we all cried for dedicated servers...sigh, its actually a pity that SA gamers wont buy map packs - ( but will drink 3 map packs worth a weekend???) The excuse of the game had bugs cant be used now it works 100% fine, and if it still doesnt work, either your PC is Kaaaaaak or youre missing correct hardware/drivers/software. Im glad this topic is being discussed and gamers have expressed their feelings regarding the map packs, as i know now not to buy them, COD in South Africa is a Done, Dead and Dusted.
Time to mehk a Dirrrt 3

Thats why all PC forums are generally pro BF and anti COD... but we are a very small minority compared to consoles. BF3 is supposedly PC first and ported to consoles.
