I have been i die hard player of CS1.6 and then CSS for the last 8+ years.

Question:

Can any CSS players vouch for Black Ops b4 i spend R500 on the game?

CSS is basically Search and Destroy on MW2 (don't know about COD BO yet). So, yes, graphics looks better (time to stretch your I7) ;) and new maps. Time to let go of CSS. :D

Hi Shark,

Could have phoned me and told me that. Since we got it out here... Come over to the dark side and "stretch that skillzor CSS style :p"

You have been an avid campaigner for Black Ops for some time! You will have to invite me to come and check it out 1st hand over a few beers and a man sized extra matured rump!

Lets hope the mod tools are released soon so competitive mods can be made.

K so that was a single player vid right? I mean there won't be people operating black hawks and planes or what?

A bit of BF mixed with cod could end rather well i reckon :D.

Game engine

The game runs on an enhanced World at War engine (which itself was improved from Call of Duty 4's) at 60 frames per second on consoles.[46] It features a streaming texture technology (also seen in Modern Warfare 2), making bigger levels possible such as "Payback" where the player controls a helicopter. Lighting effects have been improved as well.[47]

Call of Duty: Black Ops will support 3-D imaging rendered by the engine itself.[48] However, the required hardware for this feature will depend on the platform (except the Wii which does not support it).[49]

If Cod5 worked, Black Ops will run fine.

Will Treyarch/Activision be going the Steam route again like MW2?

For B/Ops, you can buy it via steam. But I think that is it when it comes to its involvement with it (probably other than the steam overlay I suppose - but cant be sure of that till I install my copy when its out) But no IWNet peer2peer crapola!

I'm still buying the disc, I just wanted to know if it will be like MW2 with full steam integration, with friends etc. Which I prefer, because of my already established friends list of local peeps. :) I got this off google as well, so the disc version will also be Steam integrated. Nice.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Shipping With Full Steamworks Integration

Call of Duty: Black Ops on the PC will be shipping with full Steamworks support at launch, offering perks such as auto-updating, achievements, and full Cloud support. This goes for both physical retail copies and all digital purchases. Don't fret though young ones, Black Ops will still offer full dedicated server support unlike Modern Warfare 2.

"Steam has been a great partner throughout development of Black Ops," said Mark Lamia, president of Treyarch. "We're working closely together to take full advantage of Steamworks to ensure we deliver the most polished and secure PC experience that our community deserves."

EDIT: Thanks Kyubi, I missed your post. :)

Kyubi.... KK will have 2 servers at launch

|KK| Public (Ranked 18 Players)
|KK| Private (Unranked 18 Players)

Well check how the game modes and server options go and give a bit more detail. Obviously the Public one everyone is welcome to join and will have 24 hour* admins.

Thanks Bud. We also have one server. We may get more at a later point. We still haven't decided what we are going to do. We will see after launch.

Unusual suspects in Black Ops Zombies

Guess who you'll play as in Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombie mode when co-operatively protecting the Pentagon from zombies:

Former US president Richard Nixon? Yes.

Former US president John F. Kennedy? Yes.

Former US secretary of defense Robert McNamara? Yes.

Cuban revolutionary and subsequent state leader Fidel Castro? Yes.

The four political leaders come together under the premise of a hush-hush meeting at the Pentagon. Cigars are smoked and shady looks traded until the sound of gunfire spooks McNamara. Kennedy passes this off as the sound of a storm until crazed monsters overrun the facility.

"Zombies," states Kennedy as a matter of fact. "Gentlemen, at times like these our capacity to retaliate must be and has to be massive to deter all forms of aggression."

The late president thumps the Great Seal of the United States on the wall and a secret room opens before him. Inside are walls filled with weaponry.

"Gentlemen," says Kennedy, "lock and load."
