Official Broadcaster

I meant sent really. Just said beamed (silly me) because the OP said beamed ;)

edit: Sorry moggie I am sorry you do not approve of me :(

By beam I meant broadcast...(cable or SAT) I understand the literal meaning of beaming, lol.

Any broadcast signal problems yet?

Nope, non that i know of, everything has gone really great, we spent years planning and testing! so far, problem free! its actualy so boring at work, nothing to do, all we doing is watching the games!

I think the big cheese from SA's point of view is Telkom, not so HBS guys?

Sort of, we had lots of problems with Telkom as im sure you guys would of presumed! but at the end of it, all was resolved, although there was alot of our guys helping and sorting out the problems

Oh please stop with all this insinuating that everything South African sucks and is crap and it is only international companies making this world cup the success it is....

All cabling has been provided by local technicians (well I can only speak for Durban here), transmission is happening via South African infrastructure (Telkom), back up transmission is via South African infrastructure (Sentech), all IT infrastructure is put in place by local technicians (yeah I am sure the internationals have had their say but it is not all them). All power supplies done by local technicians.

Even the photographers just pitch up and plug into cables provided by Telkom. HBS are probably finding it boring as it is all the locals running around ensuring all minor snags are sorted ASAP.
