I can't decide which I would take... the Galaxy S6 or the One M9.
I am not convinced that you really need a screen with a resolution higher than 1080P.
EDIT: The Galaxy S6 doesn't have a microSD card so it is no longer in the running.
128 on board is not enough for you?
How much will the 128GB version cost though?

Anyway- seen a lot of backlash for the M9 simply because it looks a lot like the M8. I don't understand why- the M8 had one of the best smartphone designs ever, it would be madness to completely change it. From what I've seen and read, HTC have address all the issues that the M8 had- higher resolution camera, far grippier finish, not as tall as the M8.
I don't have an issue with the 1080p screen- the M8 screen is pretty good, and I'd rather see QHD screens in tablets.
Overall- I really do like it, but expect the launch to be severely delayed again.
My problem is the thickness of the phone. It's almost a cm thick - obese by modern standards. If it had a huge battery that would be fine, but it doesn't. The enormous chin is a turn off too.
Being thicker makes it easy to hold- one of the issues that the previous model had. It's smaller in all other areas, too.
The enormous chin is necessary for the best-in-class speakers, so a worthy tradeoff for me. Considering that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have even larger bezels, it's not too bad.
EDIT: It's about half a mm thicker than the OPO, but is rounded as opposed to squared off- it will have far greater in-hand feel.
My OPO feels round enough at the back and is amazing to hold. The 'sandstone' texture is awesome and grippy. Also, the tradeoff for that thickness is a big 3100mAh battery and the insane battery life that is possible as a result. And let's not forget that you can buy two OPO's for the price of an M9, so HTC should not be subject to the same tradeoffs.
You can't use the chosen marketing model as a reason why a device has to have certain tradeoffs or not, especially when those tradeoffs are not even that, but elements of design. HTC may not offer as large a battery as the OPO, but the M8 did better in GSMArena's battery tests than the OPO. The M9 has a more power-efficient chipset, so it should imrpove upon the battery life.
The OPO having a larger battery does not mean that HTC made a tradeoff between design and capacity- the OPO competes in a slightly different market, the phablet market. The OPO was also new to market, from a company with zero reputation, and is sold with a very low margin. Consider the rivals that the M9 has (S6, Xperia Z3, Moto X, iPhone 6), and it has a greater capacity battery than all of them barring the Z3.
Again, the rounded back is better for in hand feel and grip- examples being the Moto X line, which have been universally hailed as being the devices with the best in-hand feel around, notably the first edition. That one had a thickness of 10.4mm. It's a meaningless spec that companies like Apple would have you believe is very much important, when in reality the thresholds become far less important at certain points.
I don't come online for one day and someone decides to post a duplicate thread.
