Official HTC One thread

Welcome to the party bro.I have the exact same problem. It's a bit irritating but we will have to deal with it. If I we return it now, they will take forever and we are not guaranteed that the replacement will be any better :-\:'(

That's what I'm thinking... I will wait another month, maybe the situation will be better...

I still got my old faithful S2 to use when its in for repairs

Is HTC scaling back their offerings in SA? I'm only seeing the One and 8X. I asked at MTN, and a lady there said that they won't stock HTC anymore.

Do you guys get a hissing sound when you record videos?
Just try to record something with no noise around e.g "a quite room" and check if you get that sound?

As far as i know its only MTN and Cell C that are limiting HTC range ,because of weak sales of HTC in SA,no marketing budget is probably the reason...So HTC does not sell that great here

Though it's a good brand,SA is not that familiar to the brand..Samsung,nokia,LG and Sony are more you "known" brands..

So yours records video and there is no weird sound at all in the background?
I think I should send my device back.
Can I go to any mtn shop to return the device?

thankfully i haven't noticed any strange sound when i record vids!

Yes you can send it to any MTN Store if i'm not mistaken ..Within 1-2weeks they'll send you a brand new one, just write down the problems and attach it to the device so that they know whats going on..Cause some of the MTN store people wont even let MTN know whats wrong with it and why it's being sent in for warranty assessment.

That sucks, I guess I'll give LG a try for my upgrade then.

ok anyone figure out hose to sep the vol of the ringtone and notifications??? its getting very very annoying!

lol, think he's trying to say, does anyone know how to separate the volume levels->Notifications-Ringtone volume-Media volume..

if i'm not mistaken Deep,on your home screen just press the volume rocker up or down, then when that level comes up on the right of it should be a settings icon (gear icon) press that.. :)

lol ... thanx Dj! typing to fast, the little gear on the right will only give you the level but i don't want my ringtone
the same level as my notifications .... i want separate vol levels for them don't seem to find a app that does that!

Oh OK! It's not possible using the system settings in JB (although I think it was possible with my HTC Desire GingerBread).

You might have to download something like Audio Guru:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jupiterapps.audioguru

Hope this helps.

If you're using a custom notification tone, why don't you recode it with a lower gain before setting it as the tone? Then it won't be so loud.

There should be some ringtone apps that would let you do this

after a while checking the net ... there are 2 apps sound profile and audio control thats supposed
to help with this gonna try it out and see.
