Not a problem for me, luckily.
but is it still valid?

pros: the IR remote, battery life (lasts me a day with heavy use, 1 and half with normal use, two days with minimal use), overall build quality, the stereo speakers, silky smooth UI responsiveness
cons: the power button is on the wrong side (difficult for one hand operation for right handers), Blinkfeed ... be nice if it could be disabled ...
BTW ... today i visited china city in johannesburg south (Amalgam), better half was looking for a cosmetic bag ... i popped into one of the cellphone stores and bought an el cheapo screen protector for R30 called "L&H Johannesburg" for the HTC One M7... lol ... i don't remember the shops name ... all i do remember was tons of boxes on the floor with accessories in each box for different phone models ... the store had some tpu horrible looking back gel cases for the HTC one which i didnt bother with ... i fitted the screen protector and to my surprise ... its damn good. clarity is amazing, no discernable loss in image quality, fits the screen perfect, not sticky, finger glides across, For R30!!! ... im very surprised its pretty good ... and here i was thinking its gonna be crap and id have it on until my R300 mediadevil screen protector arrives from overseas ... but now im thinking of just keeping it on, ... i did get some dust under the screen but used the scotch tape trick to remove any dust i did have on the protector ... its looks near perfect like there is nothing on the screen ... and for R30 its worth the risk ...
Owners of the HTC One,what is your pro's and cons on this device..![]()
Can someone please post a link to the Smart IR remote app on the Play store?
Guys any news on that 8-july price reduction from Vodacom?
I'm with you on this. I still don't have any cons for this device. I have moved Blinkfeed off as my home screen. Just as a matter of interest how do u disable Blinkfeed.I'm still wondering why this power button thing is such an issue. I've not struggled using my phone. Maybe it's my long fingers. You can disable the blinkfeeds and change the default home screen too.
Honestly I'd struggle to find anything wrong with this phone, except that even strangers keep trying to play with my phone :/. I don't know where your hands have been fool!
OK, this is coming from a Samsung Galaxy S2
Pros:
• Nice screen, especially in sunlight.
• Build quality. I know this is very subjective, but it is just a step up from the common plastic phones. Every time somebody sees it they want to know what it is.
• The sound from the speakers is really good.
• The overall responsiveness from the OS is very nice. It is very minimalistic compared to the Galaxy S4, as an example. I prefer this compared to too many features.
• Actually not a lot of bloatware.
• Camera in low light is amazing. Some friends compared photos we took in low light, with this phone way ahead. The other phones were Nexus, S4, S2 & HTC Desire S.
• Almost no lag, but this could be for any new phone.
• Battery life: Last Friday I pushed the battery. I had sync on the entire day, with both mobile data and Wifi radios on for entire day. Played games for about an hour, took some photos and listened to podcasts to work and back home (about 40 minutes in total). Check email twitter feeds, tapatalk, etc. When I got home at 19:00, had 38% left.
Cons
• Lack of dedicated menu button. This really is only a problem in some apps. In Tapatalk the big menu button is at the bottom and when you type, you can accidentally hit this instead of space. And, from what I have been reading on the interwebs, the new 4.2.2 update will solve this. Not sure when we will be getting it.
• Camera resolution. I know this seems contradictory to the great camera comment above, but imagine what double the resolution would have been on this glorious screen.
• This may be minor and specific to me, but I am not in love with the HTC Sense launcher. This was quickly rectified by installing Nova Launcher, which I got for very cheap a few months ago.
• Can’t think of any other.
I think the placement of the power button is not a deal breaker. I got used to it pretty quickly. When I used my Galaxy S2 yesterday, my 1st instinct was to go to the top of the phone![]()
If i were Vodacom, I wouldn't sell this at a reduced price, I would offer it at a premiumGuys any news on that 8-july price reduction from Vodacom?
The R350 Smart Deal is over btw, and only 30 HTC Ones left in stock.

Ok cool. I use mine as well. Under your Blinkfeeds there is a section called "App" as one of the options. It shows tips and stuff. Have u figured out what its for yet?I should have put "disable" in quotes. Just disable all topics and services and change the home screen to another panel that you've customized.
I use my blinkfeeds though.
