Official HTC One thread

Okay, I've got 4.4.2 for my HTC One M7. Now what? What apps take specific advantage of 4.4.2? Conversely, is there anything interesting that I can do with my HTC M7 now, instead of downloading any specific apps?

Ta.
Apparently now the phone can float because of this update. Try it.

Fill tub with water
Remove phone cover (if applicable)
Steady phone face up and lower it down slowly into water.
Watch it float!

It's a HTC not an iPhone.

Battery life is not bad, but most of the hit can be traced to the problems I seem to be having with Sync.

a) Even when Auto Sync is turned off, the phone will still try and periodically sync. This is causing havoc on my battery as I'm in a bad signal area and it keeps trying to find and hold a signal.
b) my Gmail is not syncing and pushing notifications even when I'm on wifi. I see it's a known issue on the xda forums but no solution yet. the workarounds provided only work for a short while before the problems come back.

So I'm kinda in two minds about the new updates so far.

You just described everything I have been experiencing since updating. My battery life is now worse than before. Previously I would get home after 18:00 with over 40% battery left (that includes sync entire day with wifi and mobile data on and listening to podcasts via bluetooth headset). Yesterday I had to switch off sync and when I got home I had 25% left.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can download the Vodacom ROM for our M7?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can download the Vodacom ROM for our M7? I flashed the WWE last year some time to get updates from HTC (which has worked well), but someone deleted my Nandroid backup of the Stock ROM. Can anyone please point me to a link?

So, my HTC One fell from a great distance and decided to leave this world. Luckily my insurance will be paying out the insured amount. The only problem is finding one.

Any of you guys and girls know where I can get one? Already tried Orange, but they only have the M8.

Why not get the M8 instead? Surely your insurance payout will be enough to cover the cost of a shiny new M8?

I see an "HTC Service Pack" update on google play.

They are now pushing HTC specific updates via the play store. Well fcking done HTC. This is really really cool.
