Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

Kohli still at the crease concerns me... He can unleash and make fodder of any bowler.
We need to grab another wicket or two in the next 5 overs.

Wickets in hand for the last 15 overs is the aim of all the team in this CWC.

35 overs at 5-6 an over and then a huge launch to get over 300 and beyond.

loose bowling , gifting 4 very other over - no pressure being applied.

Boy do I hate Morkel at this moment. Then we bring on Parnell to contribute to the shart Morkel is already bowling.

So when would Parnell be brought on? Philander's injury is the main concern here which is why Duminy is bowling. AB doesnt know if Vern is coming back. So if Parnell is not bowling now, when will he...

...oh and besides, he just had a catch put down by Amla

When he learns to bowl disciplined and not bleed runs. Just saw this interesting stat on Cricinfo - Parnell's bowling average against india 80.5, really ? I can't believe it's real.

I have nothing against him as I've seen in your posts you are a defender of our fellow previously disadvantaged brethren. I too am of this ilk (so it's not on the basis of this that I despise bad - sub par players), however I value winning over anything else.

weirdly enough - I have a sort of 1996 world cup deja vu with this match when Lara took SA bowling to the cleaners, I feel this is what's going to happen to SA.

First 15 overs, no extras - Parnell adds Wides and No Balls, do we need to gift India anymore?

Playing the race card will lose you the argument my friend because I had no idea of Parnell's background, and do not care. I have stood by Graeme Smith much more than any other criticised player and an out an out fan of him. In this game, this CWC I feel that Berhardien is sub par, I have said that before, so I only measure Parnell against Behardien here. Would I have picked Parnell for the CWC squad, no?...but he is better than Behardien as an option.

Now, if you want to talk some logical sense my friend, given that AB does not know if Vernon is coming back, who should be bowling the extra 16 overs you require (assuming Parnell does not bowl, which is a strange pick as a batsman).

The problem here is not that Parnell is bowling, but that he is forced to come on without the variation of Philander and Steyn, and at only 1 wicket down to set batsmen, when those said bowlers should have done the job and broken through--no wickets by bowlers yet.

The dropped catch would have painted a different picture. Amla was placed there, Parnell did his job and bowled to the field and then the drop...asking for more from him...?

...and then the added bonus to rub it in with the free hit no ball that wasnt one

I don't care for bad bowling undisciplined bowling.

His stats will prove me out every single time :

23.2
Parnell to Dhawan, FOUR, length ball outside off and Dhawan pummels that down the ground, flailing his bat through a big circle to smash that between the bowler and mid-off
23.1
Parnell to Dhawan, FOUR, short ball, angling into off stump. Dhawan plays the most effortless ramp shot of all time, simply leans away and puts it away over the keeper

Is it just me or does it feel like watching a sitcom, where the crowd laughs every 20seconds? Seriously, the cheers for any kind of ball is just retarded...

snip snip

FFS, Stop carrying on like a pork chop.

I did not say Parnell was up to standard here, I asked you who should be bowling the 16 overs...ok, 10 overs if Duminy is going to bowl Vernon's quota. Answer that question and we have a civilised conversation.

You misrepresented me by stooping to the race card to claimn that I somehow said Parnell was up to CWC standard. This is the MCG, the captain even does not know what to do here...he brings back Steyn..for what do you think? To defend or get a wicket at this stage?...but then he does not give him catcher's and Steyn gets plonked as well, because the batsman has no risk.

Looks like we'll be chasing 320 + here.
Good thing India's bowlers are crappier than ours.

...friend just tweeted, switched on TV, saw score...which was bearable...but when seeing the crowd, switched off....she has still not recovered from 2014 India vacation...:D

Heads of the SA players have dropped a bit. We should be able to chase 300-350 against the Indian bowling attack. Let's just hope the batsmen don't try and do stupid things when batting.
