This is late and overdue.

I decided to make this thread because every time a thread is started regarding Modern Warfare 2 the it always derails eg. the Modern Warfare 2 hacker thread ended up being used for discussion so lets use this one.

Have something to rant about? :p do it in here.

I think fridge has a lot on his plate to handle. Besides the fact he has to set this up, he has to deal with players rants etc. players hacking etc.

I think we should set it up. We should use the perk system with some rules because that's what would make it fun. I have a few rules/balancing issues. I can explain later when I get home.

I would like to know what ISP and package the MW2 guys are using. I use Afrihost capped for gaming (very good ping times). But its getting to the point of being as expensive as the uncapped packages that Afrihost & Mweb offer. So I'm considering going that way, but I'm concerned about the shaping and ping results. At the moment I have to disable UPNP in my router so that I don't host all the time (that really chows bandwidth), but it makes it more difficult to connect to parties. Last month I used 13 gig, this month have used 6 gig already. Already told the wife to stay off youtube and not download stuff. So basically its all being used on MW2.

Another thing to remember is Afrihost has a new Shaping / Throttling "FUP" that sux ass huge time! If you do heavy downloading (7gig a day for 10 days type of heavy) they do a projected total for the month and throttle you heavily. I was throttled from 4mbps to less than 384kbps on day 11 of this month. I downloaded a couple of really big (8gig +) BD Rips. Effectively they are shaping / throttling users on 4mbps lines to make sure we get less than 100gig a month. I know some Mweb guys are already sitting on 250gig for the month. Afrihost FAIL...

Stop moaning about either camping, tubing, sniping and what ever. I hate it when people start maoning the minute you dont play like they do.
All this was put in the game for a reason for you to make your personal class.

So from today I officailly will not appologize for tubing or sniping I have perks and guns to finish and sometimes I dont want to play run and gun.

I dont mind tubing or being blown away by a "bazooka" as long as its not from 2 meters away! lol... As for sniping, go for it, love to snipe and I love to hunt for snipers. It is a hugely used military tactic, and does belong in the game. The point of the game is to kill, so if you get killed, stop crying about it... get better or get out!

Agreed, I think it will be unfair towards Fridge to expect him to set this up mid tourney and to administer as well. I just think it will bring more players because (speaking from an SoS perspective) we only play hardcore and making the switch to normal is quite difficult. (Our results speak for themselves.)

No pressure though. I mean this can be set up after the current tourney (which by the way I think has been run very smooth - thanks KK and more particularly Fridge!)

I wouldn't know about that, I basically use my 15GB package for gaming only (mostly MW2) and the GF uses it for basic surfing (failbook and YouNoob) and playing some Silversands online. Other than that no issues. What I can say though is that I had to upgrade from 5GB to 15GB because as you know I host most of the times for our private matches and clannies.
 
Acid0, I agree with you 100%! These things were put into the game to test the resilience of the typical "run and gunners".
There is no greater feeling of satisfaction than taking a camper out of his spot (admittedly only after he has killed me 2 or 3 times). If a guy gets me more than twice in a spot then I go out to get him, that way when I eventually DO get him I can go na na na na na... :)

A good online relationship went south because of that... I played a map where a sniper REALLY got hold of me and killer me maybe 5 or 6 times, and I was unable to exact my revenge on him, so I decided to get my own back on the following map (which happened to be Underpass - NOT your typical sniping map). Unfortunately for this buddy of mine he was in the opposite team and felt the brunt of my revenge. He threw his toys and since then we barely talk... What I did notice is when I play against him now, he is the one doing the camping in what seems to be an attempt to prove a point. *Sigh*...

Anyway, frag on, no matter what your preference...

Yeah, maybe a bit, as in 5 months the new one is here:D
But since I played some COD 4 last weekend, there will aways be someone that plays/have issues and so on.
Talk about tubing...... ha, ha, COD4 was crazy, and I do miss the fark up due to the amount of players on 1 map.

Gun: RPD
Perk 1: Bling Pro with grip & thermal scope.
Perk 2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk 3: Steady Aim Pro
Equipment: Frag Grenade
Special: Flash Bang

Used for sniping & Close range, this does it all, and its pretty lethal. Not good for running around tho, a bit slow on foot! (Volklol picked my weapon up after I died, he said it was insane!)

Jip... The best I can manage on MW2 is about 25 - 30 kills, and that is using all my killstreaks in tandum. (also get referred to as a camper a lot, but what else are you supposed to do when you are 2 kills away from an AC130?)

I won't be able to play like that... When I run I need to run QUICK! That is why I have marathon pro on almost all my classes, except my tubing class, which has scavenger pro. :)
 
What really gets to me are these guys that call BS every time you shoot them... It is like "dude WTF, do you think you are invisible???"

Ja, since going to prestige, I have been using the M4A1 a lot, with Marathon and lightfoot....

Since most of you bought the 1st DLC, now the 2nd one is on the way, 6July. So once again the question, is it going to be worth the R114 like the previous 1? and secondly, this game will be costing us R499 + R114 + R114 = R727 already, and there is already wispers about DLC3

Isn't this cow getting died up yet????????
 
I must say that I said to myself "NO NO NO" when the first one came out. But having played the 3 new maps, it is quite awesome and according to reports the 2nd DLC is going to be even better (referring specifically to the carnival map). So, I don't know. I am also waiting for COD7 to be launched, so maybe it will not be worth my while to do it as I will only play DLC 2 for what, maybe 3 months??? I dunno...

Hmmm my friend you should come play mosh with me and volk. My biggest game is still 120 kills and 38 deaths and Volk has max at 140kills. Did a 111kills 48 deaths with a silenced UMP.
