Official Monero website hacked

The official website for the Monero cryptocurrency, GetMonero.com, was hacked to deliver malware that stole digital currency from users.

“Yesterday a GitHub issue about mismatching hashes coming from this website was opened."

This has nothing to with Monero as a cryptocurrency, or it's security. Hackers planted a compromised version of a Monero wallet on their website, but that's what hashes are for so if you follow security best practice and check hashes before installing stuff, this wouldn't be an issue.
