Lets call it! The PS4 is near, or at least the announcement everyone believes. After a spate of "leaks" and rumor's the Internet is abuzz since this teaser. Interesting times ahead.

Microsoft response:

A "Microsoft insider" speaking to CVG has responded to Sony's next-generation tease. This unnamed person said future platform supremacy will be awarded to the company with the most substance, not the most flash.

"Victory will go not to those who make the most noise, but those who make the most impact," this person said.

Recap: Microsoft's (Aaron Greenberg) claims in the past.

"This sounds like an old hardware company that’s comfortable with its market position. That complacent attitude is out of touch with where the industry and consumer is today. This generation won’t be won over just hardware specs, but who can out-innovate when it comes to online and software. This is the kind of stuff that’s in our DNA, and frankly moves the console war onto our home court.

I’m confident we will outsell the PS3 throughout the entire generation by providing more innovation and building the best and broadest games library while growing our entertainment experiences on the leading online network. With a U.S. install base lead now of more than 7 million units (according to NPD), I can’t imagine any scenario where the PS3 can catch up with us. In fact, even if you doubled the current PS3 sales and Xbox 360 remained flat, they couldn’t close the gap until 2014."
 :D

Sony's See The Future Live Countdown

Am happy that both architectures will be easier for the devs to work with and that porting games shouldn't leave any excuses about which is easier to do it on.

I want to start saving now :D.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread for updates so keep it active OP.

All aboard the hype train :p

Bonus: Do you see this? This clearly looks like the edge of a console. It’s pretty vague but hey when you dissect a trailer so many times you gotta find every little detail.

One thing, this hype shows me is that there are a lot of anticipation about the next PSx generation. This could only be good for Sony. If everyone is wrong then this will be the biggest letdown ever or the most cunning trick pulled by Sony. ;)

Let the Rumor's fly:

Top top that, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios, posted a teaser on twitter. And later, he posted a link to the official PlayStation Blog.

Here is the tweet:

A number of industry analysts also believe that Sony will be revealing the PlayStation 4.

Geoff Keighley tweeted the following: ‘Just got my invite. PlayStation Meeting, February 20 NYC. #IThinkIKnowWhat’sComing.”

Michael Pachter also believes that Sony are going to reveal the PlayStation 4. “Sony is inviting investors and media to the Feb 20 event; that means console announcement. I’m genuinely excited, although I will be in LA,” he tweeted.
