Official Super Rugby Thread 2012

Great game by the Sharks. Interestingly, the two teams that won today are both on form, and the Stormers and Chiefs have both been playing some lacklustre rugby. Should make for interesting matches next week. Just pissed that the Chiefs vs. Crusaders game is on Friday morning, damnit!

Yes, you'd think they would try maximise viewing of it. Instead they're giving the Sheep-Sh@ggers more time to recover before they play the Saffers. Swines!

I think its going to be a crusaders vs stormers final

And the new Champs.... STORMERS!

Ultimately, the log is the only thing that counts - not how exciting rugby a team plays. The Cheetahs often very exciting rugby but in the process, they forget about the defence :)

Oh well, good news for the Stormers...basically got a free pass into the final.

Beware of being too one-eyed fellas --> :wtf:

Eish, so much magic undone by Bossie getting white line fever and trying to slide in from 6 feet away :/

Looked like he lost traction to me :D

Either way it was a very nice game to watch, good game play & the defence was rock solid.

Since 2008, average score in 5 games: Crusaders 20 - 18 Stormers

Don't misunderstand me, would love to see the Stormers beat the Crusaders, just have my doubts.

WRT next weekends game, IMO the Sharks are a better team at the moment, but I fear that the hard game and extensive travel could sink the Sharks. We will just have to wait and see.

Anyone have contacts for tickets at Newlands next Saturday ?

I need 8 tickets!

Going to be such a good game come Saturday, real lekker South African spectacle hopefully. Can't wait, good day will be had by all I hope.

Well played Sharks, very impressive performance!

Unfortunately your road comes to an end at Newlands next week... :-)

Imagine the suicides in Capey land come Saturday when the Sharks win ...... will probably be declared a day of mourning.

One more match to listen to the whining about the worldwide ref conspiracy against the Sharks...

1. DHL Stormers
2. Crusaders
3. Reds
4. Chiefs
5. Sharks
6. Vodacom Bulls
7. Brumbies
8. Hurricanes

Bwhahahahaha,,, haha, standup comedian much?

Who cares, may the best team won....again!

Sharks a team playing on the counter feeding off turn overs vs the Stormers a team giving the ball the opposition and try forcing them into errors by winning the ball at the break down and through handling errors ala South Africa 2004. Both teams do not really want the ball. Should be interesting.

Hope it's going to be an interesting game, but Stormers FTW

And on another note, if 1/2 or 2/3's of the Bulls team are Springboks. What does that say about the Springboks. Springboks are going to get slaughtered against the All Blacks

Mmmm. Of course, this is like asking me to choose my favourite red-haired stepchild. Nonetheless, while I dislike the Stormers only marginally less than the sharks, I will remind the stormers of 19-20 in 2007. Home ground is no guarantee. Especially the way the sharks team is currently playing. I'd be guarded in my remarks until after the clash. Go Problems!

You are one of those people that do not really know all that much about rugby but one of your mates complained about something and hay, it is monday morning so lets complain.....

1) There were more sharks in the Bok team than Bulls.
2) With 1 week to prepare, it makes sense to get people in that is familiar with your structures and plans.
3) The group you are refering to was for the test series against the Pomms. I am sure we will see a couple of changes to the group come the rugby championship.

The Sharks were great on saturday (and the Bulls did not pitch up for their game). That being said they have to beat the Stormers then go back to NZ to beat the Saders or the Chiefs.

For SA rugby I think the best chance is if the stormers go through, and no I am not saing the sharks are a lesser team it is in my mind simple logistics.

Now that being said, if the sharks play like they did this weekend against the reds and the Stormers like they did the last two matches before their break..... I have bad news for stormers fans.

The Sharks have found form at the right time. We now have a solid team all gelling well together and our tactics against the Reds were sublime. We're dominating up-front, strangling possession when necessary and converting 22-visits to points for the most part. That sort of game-plan and execution is tough to be beat - no matter who you are...

All of it - exactly what I was thinking. It would be better for ZA rugby if the Stormers win, as they would then have the NO TRAVEL advantage. Going back to Ch/Cru will be a bridge too far for the sharks, imo.
