A U A U A UCT.... :D :D

Hopefully they perform better than last year where they were second last on the log.

However my head says that it will be a Maties/Tukkies final, yet again.

Yip I would go with that as well.

Tuks vs UCT next week...should be a cliffhanger

Tukkies have some serious firepower

The Pretoria juggernaut will be intent on getting their new campaign off to a solid start against Pukke, who they downed in the semifinal last year, and coach Nollis Marais is clearly not taking the opening assignment lightly.

Junior world champions William Small-Smith, Shaun Adendorff and Marvin Orie will all be in action at the Fanie du Toit Sportsground, whilst the team will be ably led by skipper Jono Ross who recently returned from a spell with English Premiership side Saracens.

Whilst the former Baby Bok stars will inject some youthful enthusiasm into UP-Tuks' game, they also boast a fair number of experienced players such as scrumhalf Danie Faasen and the speedy duo of Vainon Willis and Courtnall Skosan out wide.

NMMU drew 5 all with UCT! Hoping for another good NMMU season.

Varsity Shield is also great. Actually its for young players showing how rugby should be.

Last year i watched all TUT Home games. This year i will support WIts.

I really like Varsity Rugby, my only issue is the use of non-students. In my mind university sports should be played by actual students. We now have a Varsity Cup champion, and a seperate USSA rugby champion, which isn't ideal. I was hoping that with Varsity Sports expanding, that they would bring the rules more inline with USSA.

Either way, well done NMMU, looking forward to the first home game.

I also like the idea of Varsity Cup and I thought Varsity Cup meant, students playing against each other. But I guess I was wrong with regards to that. I was really suprised to see a guy playing for Saracens and now playing Varsity Cup. Can someone please provide me with a quick summary on how the Varsity Cup works with regards to players

Teams can have 7 non-studnets in each match day 23.

That makes me very sad.

Well done to the Pukke and NMMU for the "upsets".

Wonder if the step up from from the shield to the cup tourney is so huge or if Wits just had an off day.

Here is the table. Looks like Wits is going to struggle this year, but I think this is very good for their rugby

Can't believe Pukke let me down..... Damnit could have had a bonus point on SuperBru.

Hmm, Ikeys lower than I thought they would be

NMMU had an amazing game last night, lost 8-13 to Maties, but could have won it right at the end.

I thought Maties would beat them by 10+, well done.

I must say UJ seems like they are a tad pissed off because of that round 1 loss.

Good to see Shimlas beating Pukke, Tuks easy win and a great game by NMMU. These boytjies from NMMU is really playing well this year and they will deserve a semi final spot
