Why not have a section dedicated to problems and errors all in one thread.
My problem is this when dual boot vista and win7 beta there seems to be registry errors. My fix was to format the partition using the win7 tools when installing.I fixed this by formatting 4 times after each other then reinstalled win7 and installed easybcd on the win 7 partition,Next i restarted and did a startup repair for vista. This worked for me.I even got the sound drivers to work, pity the subwoofer dont work.:D

I installed mine on an empty hard drive but I unplugged my vista and xp hard drives, makes life a lot easier I thought :)

1 I got problems when trying to install Windows Live Messenger (Windows Live
Messenger does not want to install, it gives a error and does not complete the
installation)

2 The rear speaker for my soundcard does not work right in windows 7 when playing
music from winamp or movies but it works when I am using my tv card only when I
am using a certain version driver for my soundcard.

3 When I record TV from my TV card, VLC player plays the video with sound and
Windows Media Player only plays the video without sound.

4 FM radio program crashes when trying to listen to FM radio with my tv card/fm radio card

I need drivers for my sound card as well. The Vista 64bit driver installs, but I still have the same problem, No Sound. :(

Keep in mind that I only have a 512k line and are left with 350mb international bw for the rest of the month. Do you really think I want to go through all that trouble? :p I'd rather load Vista back.

I'd go back to Vista, Windows 7 is just too problematic for heavy use now and should only be used for testing. My gadgets don't work anymore and media center works as a PVR when it feels like it, now I'm forced to reinstall it to figure out why this happens.

The only errors I have experienced are:
1. Skype version prior to Skype 4 Beta 3 do not work.
2. When analyzing my HDD in Disk Defragmenter, Windows froze and resulted in me restarting as it did not recover.

ANTI VIRUS

Kasperski is not working with 7. Anybody know of a virusprogram that is compatible with W7?

I did an upgrade (to keep apps) over Vista64Ult and not a clean install.

My only issues so far (x64 version):

1) Skype IE plug-in incompatiibility. Will install Skype beta one of these days.
2) An AVG8 update yesterday caused a sytem halt and dump. Remove and reinstall latest AVG8 seems to have fixed the problem.
3) Windows Mobile Device Centre with HTC Touch HD. Stuck on 'Connecting...'. Removed and reinstalled WMDC and all works fine now.

Everything connected flawlessly to the network, without incident. All devices work, including printers, sound, etc. I don't use gadges. WinUpdate had a new nVidia WDDM driver and it works fine on dual-mon setup. I certainly haven't tested all my apps (Sony Vegas Pro 8.1 works fine), but at least the system images nicely with Acronis True Image Echo Workstation, so I'm just a few minutes away from reverting should I need to. As an aside, the Win7-64 disk image is 2GB smaller than the Vista64Ult image from which it was upgraded.

Promising. And yes, it's fast.

Installed the 32bit on my laptop on Monday, haven't booted XP once since... I only needed to find graphics card drivers myself. Wireless network and fingerprint reader drivers came from the direct links offered by windows (I was very impressed!). Nod32 network driver gave me a few BSODs, so I'm not using AV. Virtual Clone drive (daemon tools doesn't work) froze a couple of times during installation and configuration, but has worked fine since. CoD4 and 5 don't work, 5 doesn't install and 4 needs some DX9 file to run; I haven't had time to troubleshoot.
Thumbs up to MS, this OS is awesome :)

Have just tried to add some hotfixes to the Touch HD via WMDC. The exe files from HTC don't execute on Win7b: "not a valid Win32 application".
MyMobiler works fine, btw, so PDA is driven by PC.

My issues so far (32bit clean install) on dedicated HDD:

1. LOTS of explorer crashes when using an external PATA interface drive via USB enclosure. SATA seems happy.
2. Huge variance in speed copying data between HDD and USB devices (especially thumb drives and the PATA drive in USB enclosure)
3. "Ghost" new updates - the icon in the taskbar says there are updates, but nothing shows when looking at Windows Update
4. UAC still a pain in the a**, causes many things to fall over when enabled
5. Preview Desktop stops working around 5 minutes after installation (I didn't do any driver updates)
6. Onboard NIC died shortly after installing Win7 - coincidence ?
