Hi,

I have a HD in my computer that shows as "Offline" in the Disk Management. Can't get it online in either Vista or using command prompt.

Is there any good freeware out there that might help me to save some information on the disk. Or if not something that won't cost me an arm and leg?

Thks

PJS, did u check if ur Bios Picks it up? Ie, match the count of HDD's in BIOS, with the count of HDD's in disc manager.
I once connected a 4 disc software RAID of my friend to my computer to copy some stuff over. After finishing, and removing the drives, XP still showed the drives there.. but Offline. I then removed them by right cliking an the volume and seleting remove.

I run a Nvidia Raid (Stripe) setup for the main HD's. The drive in question is conected on a different SATA. Bios does not pick it up. (Asus MB) Changed all settings still nothing.

Does not sound good. Normally if BIOS doesnt pick up the drive it is gone,... except if the SATA port and/or cable went faulty.
Swap things around a bit and see if drive is picked up in BIOS at least.. otherwise start scratching around for that invoice...
