Hi
Does anyone know if there’s an offline scraper available for XBMC?
I have +- 4tb that needs to be scraped again for XBMC to recognise the cover art and info, problem is all the files I have already has cover art and a online scrape won’t be necessary, coz it will download all the cover art I already have again, and its time consuming, last time it took 3 days :(

Go to videos, right click on your source folder and click scan for new content. XBMC will first look for local content(moviename.nfo, moviename.tbn etc) before searching online.

Disconnect your internet just to be sure it doesn't go online.

So that did not work, it does not want to scan if its not online :erm:
Does anyone else know a jukebox that can display cover art and movie information? (preferably one that does not need to be online)

Firstly is your folder content set to movies?
What names do you use for your cover art and nfo files? it should be e.g. fightclub.avi, fightclub.tbn, fightclub.nfo and fightclub-fanart.jpg. Your folder structure should be ..\movies\fightclub\ ....It should work

Ja ag no man, i tried everything, renaming folders, renaming files, making sure the files, folders and cover art has the exact same name, nothing works, i have even tried Media Browser which is actually quite nice
But it seems like it will have to do the horrid scrape again :p
But thanks for the reply!!

What are your settings under "set content"?

Movies, or videos, can remember, but i don’t think that’s the problem, as far as i can tell XBMC creates a database when scraping, so an online scrape is necessary, i started mine this morning, this far it seems to be going faster than my previous Xtreamer's scraper, and it look much better!!
Let hold thumbs :P

Ok your problem might be that you don't have all the content that xbmc uses, for instance fan-art. So I think xbmc will pick up the local cover art and .nfo but still needs to go online to get the fanart that is why its going so quickly.

What skin are you using?

Currently the default skin
I have all the Fan art, cover art and info files, the thing is its not named the correct way, and me going to rename 4TB's content for the online scraper to scrape faster will be impossible :P, i think it’s going faster coz its using a different site to collect the info

OK i see, once you are finished go to settings, videos and export library using separate files. XBMC will then copy all the meta data to your folders, so that if you have to redo it for whatever reason you wont have to rescrape online.

Confluence (default skin) is one of the best skins, I've tried almost all the other skins available but always went back to confluence. Recently I found a skin called "Neon" which I've been using for the last 2 months and I now prefer it to confluence.

Tell me, if i ad a few new movies, and i do a scrape again, will it go through all files again?

I also read on the XBMC forum the default skin is the best, with you confirming this, I’ll stick to it :)

i like the XBMC look and how it look, i have much more power over it than a normal media player, one thing i picked up last night i don’t like is when im watching episodes, and all episodes are in one folder, and you click skip on the remove, it does not skip, it only exists, and i have to manually skip to the next episode, hopefully I’m just missing a setting

When you add new movies it will just skip over the old stuff.

You can add the episodes into a playlist it will then automatically play the next one.
Try Neon I think its the one skin that beats confluence.

Pleasure, XBMC is really cool you won't be sorry. If you have any problems just PM me, I have been using XBMC for about 2 years now so have struggled through most of the issues.

Haha, thanks man, i really appreciate your help and will definitely take you up on you offer :)
I tried a few apps last night, and Media Browser really needs a mention as well, it’s very basic and looks good, the best part is how easy it is to manage, it incorporates with windows media centre but it seems to work as a standalone app

BoxEE was also quite nice, but i thinks its more for a permanent online experience
