In line with OFM's 20-20 vision for the decade, central South Africa's leading commercial radio station has chosen the increasingly popular messaging application, Telegram, as the main platform through which listeners can interact with the on-air team.

From March 2020, the OFM tribe will join the more than 250 million users worldwide, who have already come to rely on this innovative, safe, secure and a stable application. Not only does Telegram boast some exciting new features for its users, it is also fully integrated with OFM’s systems resulting in a better communication and user experience. But, most importantly, it affords programmers the ability to use listener preferences to generate a better listening experience for OFM’s audience.

Listeners are encouraged to download the free Telegram app in their respective smart phone app stores and use the number 084 222 9497 to relay various information, send in requests and enter competitions on OFM.

Sorry, I know it is a few months old article but I for some reason have only seen it now. Algoa FM in PE also switched to Telegram last year I think. So now it is two national radio stations which have switched. Wonder if the others will follow.
