My BB has gone in for repair. I got my first one on contract and it broke within 6 weeks and I looked after it. I got a replacement and now that one has gone in for repair too. I will only know next week whatis wrong with it. If I had known the 8520 would be so crappy would never have got it in the first place. Why oh why?

Who in their right frame of mind would in this day & age get a BB without 3G?

I've had 2 8520's over the past 3 years (gave the first one to my mom) both still going strong, looks like you're just having some kuk luck

People that have access to internet via a laptop at work/home 24/7 haha, I only use my BB to make the odd phone call (when I'm not at my work phone) and for whatsapp and bbm...Way back the 3G curves were like R1500 more than the 8520, couldn't really see the point

You still don't get it aft.... Wait, DAT NAME! Pics please.

I suppose to get an 8520 3 years ago but instead I opted for Sony Ericsson. Why is this outdated piece of crap still going for over R1400??!

Apparently it has now been discontinued. I hope they let me get another one lol. Oh well. I got the BB for BBM. See the thing is I dont always have air time so at least chatting is free and it doesnt cost a fortune to send messages overseas either...but would just like my phone back now

Upgrade to a 9300 at least if you can. I had problems with first 8520 and memory is too little for applications. Didn't have any problems with 9300 software or hardware and OS6 makes everything so much easier.

I might be able to if the phone really cant work and I claim on insurance but I will have to pay in some money then as well as it is a more expensive phone but I am going to call them on Tuesday and find out if they know anything!!!!

If you decide to upgrade to a 9300 look at the 9320 first which apparently has the better OS 7.1 and obviously much better camera. Only a couple hundred rand difference

I got my 8520 back seems to be fine but how do I check what software it has and hwere can I get the latest software for it. Thanks for the tip Drkev
