What a shocker! This morning I took someone to a doctors consulting room. When we arrived there was a ambulance. Apparently a young black woman were taken there and it became a crisis. What was wrong with her I do not know but from the conversations I gathered she collapsed unable to breath. Probably pneumonia. They gave her oxygen but her response was very weak. Thus they called an ambulance, the woman did not respond as if she was in a coma, they asked if the "controller" wanted to speak to the doctor to get more information, she said yes, when she was transferred to the doctor the "brainless" idiot just said it's ok she needs no further info and put the phone down. The controller was explicitly instructed beforehand that the woman needs to be on oxygen. The ambulance medics had no oxygen, no blanket, did not request any information about what the nurses/doctors did, took no immediate action, nothing. The just stood there until the nurse told them they must transfer the patient onto the ambulance trolley bed. When I left a few minutes later the ambulance were still standing outside with the "medic's or rather brainless idiots standing in the ambulance door doing whatever they were trying to do but it seemed to me it was more talk than action. A liasse affair no emergency. God save us all from these brainless idiots. I despair the fact that there are millions out there relying on the ANC born an bred incompetent public services.

I doubt that woman was alive by the time they left. Feck you Zuma, Feck the ANC and all their cohorts as well as all the brainless idiots that voted them in power and support this incompetent, greedy corrupt brainless criminal fools running this government as a circus!

End rant!

WTF is a "liasse affair"?

And it is somewhat ironic that your rant against "brainless idiots" is itself somewhat lacking in brains. Check your spelling and grammar.

And is about to happen again. Careful, he'll think you support the ANC if you criticise him.

Where was the ambulance from? This is incredible, paramedics would have immediately put up O2 or at least bagvalve or artificicial respiration if patient is unresponsive and not breathing, Gp's are usually not geared to cope with trauma, being a level 3 1st aider I've seen this 1st hand.

This might make sense if your rant actually had a topic... other than your obsession with the ANC.

And congratulations on your sense of humour - that's the third time you've tried that particular joke. Keep on... one day it might even be funny.

It's pathetic.

A friend of mine's grandpa/pensioner with diabetes had a high sugar level recently, old age home sister gave him extra tabs to drop the sugar but he started bleeding through his penis for some reason so they called family and ambulance, family called netcare. Unfortunately the public ambulance were there first and he was taken to a public hospital. After two hours sitting in a queue on a chair with no help where he bled a huge pool of blood on the floor words were exchanged between family and the public servants. Family called Netcare again which at first were reluctant to help as the public hospital should "transfer" the patient. Eventually they agreed to help and collected him from the public hospital and took him to a private hospital where he ended up in ICU. They stated if they did not collect him and started treatment on the spot he would have been dead. The man is 84 and is recovering well at the moment. Now the family faces a huge bill if their medical aid do not cover all expenses.

BTW it's the same hospital as in the OP.

My obsession with the incapable totally inept ANC public services! ;)

Who's responsible for the public services here? The ANC, enough said!

pretty diabolical

interestingly, i had a chat to a paramedic from either netcare 911 or er24 - dont remember which.

in any event, my mother had a heart attack last year, she was rushed of to cape town medi-clinic by netcare911 amulance / paramedics.
when we got there, the doctors in the trauma unit said she had to be immediately transferred to chris barnard hosp for surgery.
some special advanced life support ambulance had to be used for this transfer as she was already connected to various "machines", had a heparin iv running as well as 2 other iv's on the go.

as we were pulling out, 2 western cape metro ambulances arrived at cape town medi-clinic trauma unit.
i remarked to the advanced life support paramedic with my mother (i think er24 did the transfer), that i would rather not ever be at the mercy of cape metro / govt ambulance service.

his response surprised me.
told me, that in a life threatening emergency, he personally has 100% faith & confidence in metro (having dealings with them on a regular basis).
he went on to say, the metro ambulances are as well equipped and maintained, as the very best in the private industry are.
furthermore, the paramedics & equal training & qualifications, but they had vastly more experience in a wider scope of emergencies.

interesting !

I think emergency services of all kinds are in crisis. There was the case a day or two ago of the old couple's house that burned down in Pretoria. They live 9 kms from the fire station but the fire engine took an hour and a half to get there :wtf:
Also a while ago another family house burnt down. The first fire engine had no water and the second one broke down before it got there.

Interesting can you confirm whether it's a DA or ANC controlled region? Maybe its just the Eastrand as my experience are all horror stories?
