Olarm and paradox mg5050

Hi.

Anyone got experience with olarm and hooking up to paradox MG5050?

Need to see activated zones etc and be able to bypass zones and arm partitions.

Costs are around R50 a month for a 2 year contract.

Have HA but don't have the ability to set it up. (which would be ideal)

Not sure about the ANC part but ok

Took out my Olarm and replaced it with PAI via IP150. If you plug in the Olarm to the serial port then it will read your partitions and zones as programmed on the alarm. If your installer used Babyware and actually named the zones the names will pull through, if not then they will pull through as zone 1 - x and you can use Olarm to rename them on the app. App allows you to arm, disarm partitions and bypass zones with little to no fuss. When alarm goes off it will tell you which zone was triggered and then you can disarm

Edit: this was on an SP6000 but should work yhe same on MG5050

I have an Olarm and it works really well.

You can arm and disarm/sleep/etc partitions, and bypass zones. What we also like is that you can see each activation of zones, so even if the alarm is not set, you can see if people are walking around your house activating zones.

I'm super interested in getting my alarm hooked up to Home Assistant so I can build in some automations based off of the zone triggers, but the wife acceptance factor of the Olarm is too high - so I have to wait patiently for Olarm to release a Home Assistant integration (which they have said is in the works for a couple of years now, but yet to get any feedback from them).

Home assistant does give you great functionality if you do take Olarm out

Thanks - I have a Paradox MG5050. I know that Home Assistant can replicate all the functionality of Olarm, it's just not worthwhile for me to spend all the time replicating the UX of Olarm into HA for the wife

Mine was also reluctant until i showed the benefits of "one app to rule them all" ... shes slowly getting on the bandwagon - i just need to make sure the camera streams are also in HA - that's tonight's project

Very simple. Plug and play with SG5050. Pulls zone partitions and names.. Although not all names but can presumably rename through app.

Thanks to carte Blanche now have to figure out how best smoke detectors. Any ideas?

Awhile ago got sonoff smoke detectors but they are horse sh#t.

What is the benifit of the Olarm versus Insite Gold app of Paradox?

I can't see what Olarm does that Insite can't.

Yes. Got the olarm pro. Wifi and GSM.

So far so good. Does all that I would need. Zones, bypass, inside outside partitions, arming and disarming.

They havnt yet hit me with subs yet... Sssshhh....

So it seems my attempt to connect my new Olarm to my Paradox system resulted in a pc/app lock event. Does anybody have an idea to reset it other than attempting a power cycle.

If you are using Armed Response and Monitoring , is Olarm compatible with these companies systems in terms of receiving signals ??

Yes it is... when the alarm goes off a signal is sent via the radio to the armed response (as long as this is setup correctly on the alarm unit)

Once off Payment for the unit , remains their property but the monthly / annual Olarm Subs included in the Armed Response monthly subs at no extra charge.
Armed response company is listed under Olarm resellers

Only issue I'm having is , no option to connect to Wifi , i have your Olarm Pro

Alarm company needs to sort it out , or will leave it as is from a security view , if Olarm is compromised, hackers will have access to my Wifi

is it something that they disabled perhaps?

one way to mitigate them having access to your wifi is to place the Olarm (and other IoT devices) in its own VLAN that has limited access

Issue was i was made a secondary user , been changed to primary user giving me full access allowing me to connect to WiFi

Anyone having issues with the iOS Olarm app.

Mine is not connecting , push notifications still coming through when arming via the Alarm Keypad
