Hi guys, it's been 2 years since I played BF3 and I really want to get back into the action. I used to play on PS3 but now I want to get BF4 on PC.

CPU: Intel Quad Core Q6600
Ram: 4Gb
Gfx: Nvidia 8600GT (need to upgrade)
PSU: 450W

Ok so I need to upgrade my GFX card (and probably my PSU as well) but my main concern is my internet. I have a 2Mbps Telkom 10Gig capped acount and I'm not sure if that's gonna cut it especially with the HUGE updates.

Last question, I heard a rumour before BF4 was released about being able to carry over stats from BF3 to BF4?? Is that true or was it just a rumour?? If it is true how do I go about doing that and can I carry stats from PS3 to PC??

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can't carry over stats. Get 8 gigs of ram and a nvidia 760 and enjoy the many bugs and crashes that comes with an unfinished game.

For a budget and for an AMD optimised game I'd go AMD. While I use nvidia now I find AMD cards play well with BF4 and with the Mantle API coming this month (hopefully) you will find a really nice performance boost. That is if AMD weren't just screwing with us about the reported benchmarks.

Yeah, with mantle coming you definitely want an AMD card.

Anyway regarding internet just upgrade to a Telkom uncapped package. Will really be for the best.

I am interested also.
Will 2mb line be enough without any lag(this is all Telkom can offer me right now at my house)

I have I7 with a Radeon HD5770(know its old) with 8gig ram
Will this be enough?

2Meg is more than enough.

You might have to change the GPU. CPU will be sufficient.

Long time no see Acid0! How you doing mate?

Thanks Slaught3r will look into getting a new one.
Been busy with life for a while and telkom cant install a proper line at the new house.
But hopefully it will be sorted soon :)

Will see you guys soon in the BF
I see a couple of the old IRF guys wants to start again, will be fun(just need to convince Rippy lol).

If you got a mate with you the game you can just ask them to copy their bf4 folder and give it to you. No need to update! :D

I'm playing bf4 on a 1mb line with an Asus 5850, I can run the game on high graphics detail

AMD's mantle is looking interesting, I wonder if their claims will translate into real world performance.

CPU makes a big difference in battlefield.
When i went from my Core 2 Quad Q9550 to a I5 3570K i saw a noticable jump in fps.
Although out of your components a new gfx card is priority. a R9 270x should do the trick nicely they go fro R2500-R3000.

I was looking at the R9 270X, but don't think my PSU will be able to handle it. Wootware's details recommends a minimum 500W psu.

Secondly my mboard is pretty sh*t.

Basically I need to upgrade my whole PC but I do not have the cash flow so I want to start bit by bit. Unless I can get a nice build for running BF4 without costing me an arm and a leg...
