Old school LG LCD busted help??

Hi, i bought an LCD TV in like 2006/7 not sure but one of the quite earlier models...it seems as if its time has come to go to tv heaven as last night it decided to die...
what happens is that once it switches on a small glimpse of the picture comes up then just blackness the audio still plays tho...any ideas what this could be?? and if its reparable for a reasonable amount??

if this is the wrong section for this i apologize pls refer me to where a question like this could be answered...

If you flash a flashlight on the panel can you see anything? Sounds like the Fluorescent backlight's gone
 
nope havent tried that yet will try tonight and see if i can see anything....(hope this isnt a joke lol)
