Hi
I'm looking to buy a new TV and I'm torn between a LG 55' FHD OLED and a LG 55' 4K Nano Cell.
I know that OLED has better quality, but is it worth getting an OLED if the resolution is only FHD?
Please help.

Only 5% of the content you watch will be in 4k, so it's best to wait for OLED/Nano Cell tech to become mainstream and prices to drop.

Nano cell is just crystals that have been layered over the LED's to offer better colours.

If you urgently need a TV I would take the LG nano cell, but if you can wait a few months then you can probably get a 4k OLED for around the same price as the FHD OLED.

the fhd Oled is 4 year oled tech from the lg eg910t, the same processor and inners but with the flat panel not curved.
it really is good for watching fhd sources. 480p and 576 p is acceptable too. But the upscaling really isnt that good.
your source is going to dictate the picture quality. The prices are pretty good though i saw it at R14999 at hirshes

the 4k nano is a good tv , depending on what your needs are. if you have a brighter room its a better choice because it gets brighter than oled. if you game alot then its better because you don't get burn in from static images.
i havent played with one to judge the upscaling of sd sources but fhd and 4k looks really good. Its not Oled spectacular but its good. Dont know how much of a videophile you are so at the end of the day take your own videos and judge on both before you make your decision. Just remember switch to off all the processing on the tv before you do

hope this helps you

LG released a FHD OLED last year under model number A7.

At the price LG is asking for the 55" FHD Oled you can get a 65" Hisense M7030 which has ULED and HDR and is 4k.

I'm looking to buy my kids a 65" to 75" , and today went to Hirschs to compare OLED to the Nano Cell .

The older Nano TV's don't even come close to the OLED , BUT the latest model (forgot model number) , was very very nice and colors were rich and blacks were deep.

Only this 65" set was priced at R52k , which is similar to OLED.

Not sure if this one comes in 55" though.

Getting a deal.co.za has LG B8/C8 55 inch OLED for R32 000
