I was cleaning up a little for 2014 and I came across my first digital camera - an Olympus D-360L 1.3MP camera http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_product.asp?id=527

I tried it and it works actually - albeit very slow to use ... and it uses a card that they don't make (Smartmedia). So I can't use a card reader and the only option is to connect the camera to a PC.

The cable that came with was serial though - anyone know if I can get a USB cable to transfer?

What about a USB to Serial convertor? they are quite cheap to get.

I could - but the're still R200.00 or so, aren't they?
And difficult to find?

I have a D-340L. I really wouldn't want to try and transfer images from it via serial. The images I do have from it dating back from 1999 are so bad, an 8-year-old cellphone takes better pictures, and would be able to transfer them faster via bluetooth.

Why do you want to use it?

You should still be able to get a card reader that does SmartMedia (one of those 7-format USB readers).

But then, you can probably pick up a 2nd-hand 5+MP camera with USB and SD for about the same money ....

I don't want to use - just kinda curious once off to see what comes out of it ;)

I have 3x card readers that can read Smartmedia I think. Those multifunction card readers you get for PCs should do it and I'm sure they are cheap.

I'll try get one - the one here doesn't have.

Thanks!
