Just received an email with this:
The victim was car jacked in Johannesburg, South Africa, the murder capital of the world. Robbers beat him and then tied him down and dragged him behind his own BMW until the police pulled them over and arrested the suspects. The victim lived to tell his story, and is recovering slowly at our local hospital.

There's pics and I have to say those are some of the WORST pics I've ever seen. You can see the muscle and bone across the guy's whole back and arm.

Now THIS is the kind of crime that deserves the death penalty.

I'll try to get a link.

again, this proves that email is not the most reliable source of information

Yeah I dunno if it's fake or not, probably is because I haven't seen it anywhere but yikes, the pics are  pretty bad.

Prob. not true.

1 good thing though is that it does put the crime rate out there.
We really have a missive problem.

Van Blerk and a colleague, Scott Mackenzie, were assaulted in front of Churrasco's restaurant in Brackendowns on October 22.

Van Blerk lost consciousness and a bystander tried to help him get up.

Van Blerk, who had been lying on his back, became entangled under a vehicle that had reversed at speed and then driven off.

Yes someone got dragged behind a car but you can't say it did happen.

feo posted about a hijacking where they tied the guy to the car and dragged him on purpose. The story you posted is about someone getting assaulted outside a restaurant and then accidentally being dragged.

Not the same...

I know Gavin. As with all news stories somewhere along the line the truth became a victim. I wasn't confirming feo's original post. Merely confirming that something along those lines had happend. Sorry if it didn't come out that way :)

true, I just felt I needed to comment before the nutters arrived and took this as gospel...

Strange how such stories can be twisted...

You insensitive pricks. The guy in the pics is my uncle's cousin's brothers dad's best friend's sister's husbands boss' PA's boyfriend!

Yep, just to clarify, the guy DID get dragged behind a car, just not sure whether it was accidental or not.

yep just to clarify.

He was not hijacked.
He was involved in a scuffle outside a restaurant after a rugby game.
The car drove over him and dragged him down the road.

Everything is clear except whether the car hit and dragged him on purpose ;)

As far as i know this court case is still going on. The driver of the vehicle said that he was trying to get away from the fight and did not realise that there was someone behind his vehicle.
