Omni Microphone

I'm having trouble with a new microphone that I bought yesterday.

It only has one cable, so I assume it goes into the microphone port. Yet, the colour code on the cable is Orange, and my port is red. What should I do to make this Mic work?

The colours which seem to be popular are Blue,Green and red or pink on mine for the mic to work is pink as long as you put it into the right mic in port, You just have to the sound card settings(Depending on your sound card type) take the tick out of mute(Line in) and push up the volume.

This works for on board sound and depends what you are using
If you have another sound card, then for people to be able to help you you need to specify what sound card you have in order to help you through the process

Yes the colours aren't always identical, red/orange same difference.
