I got it installed, but it didn't prevent a FB android app from chomping up all my airtime.

Luckily it was prepaid. Still miffed about that.

mmm I wonder. Maybe it does not work with all apps? Think i read somewhere it can only compress http traffic...not secure trafic and perhaps facebook uses secure traffic cause you need to be logged in?

In the app...does it show you how much data it has saved at all?

Oops... I'm using Onavo count - it shows you how much data you've used via 3G... sorry... (/runs and hides from occie's wrath)

Basically it shows you how much data you've used, and in theory, should block *.* from accessing internet on 3G when your cap's reached...

hahaha...you are a drol! :p I was wondering how you managed to get ICS on your phone seeing that Onavo Extend is only available for ICS. Thought you rooted it or something.

Don't most popular phones have unofficial ICS roms by the plenty ?

The HTC desire S and HD have many.

I had it installed. Never worked because it kept asking for VPN settings, and I suppose I was too lazy to sort that out.

Yeah I have installed, haven't tried it yet since I've been on wifi, annoying that it asks for permission for vpn every time I restart my phone

Android thing, I would like it if they added root support which would be a way around the persistent asking.

trying a new rom so at the moment I restart often, but once its settled in it won't be often, but like cranial said root support would be nice
