thanks people :) . . . yes the car is mines, 997 gt3 rs. So giddy about it. If you saw it at sandton then its the same one. You get them, in silver, black, orange and green. The silver and black come with the orange wheels, wheel the other two colour black wheels. No other colour. Only 14 of them in the country. Have not driven a faster car than this gt3. Best car i have owned by far. . . . . Granted the r8 is a nice car, but what put me off is it has an rs4 motor. And if you think of it its basically that, a rs4 with a different shell. And it would just feel so mass produced. Same with the gtr35. The other option was an aston, but to me an aston is a pure status car. Write ups on these cars are never awe inspiring. Compared to the m3, there just is no comparison, be silly to compare them. Like comparing a g6 gti to an m3 :) . . .

Well they do say it compensates for other shortcomings.... ;)

Definitely not to my taste though. I prefer understated and space to roll around in the back seat! :)

By the way the car comes like this from Porsche ... no mods ...

it must be noted this is an all out track car ... roll cage, bucket seats, no dampening, alcantara interior, Carbon ceramic brake discs ... Michelin cup tyres ... its as hardcore as they come .... thats why i like it :)

The r8 does have the rs4 engine, but the engine was chosen because of its engineering and generic design, its the best engine made by audi, and the placement of it in the r8 changes the whole feel and acceleration, I prefer the look of the r8!, but their is no compare when it comes to handling against porsche, porsche takes the crown in that aspect..

thanks Mate! ... agree the R8 is a very pretty car indeed ... def was one of the choices ...

until I had a drive in the GT3 RS, i was in love ... no car, and i mean no car has given me that feeling "i really NEED this car" ... to be honest i did not even consider the GT3 RS in my choice of cars ... it took just one drive in this car to change that ... currently the way i feel is i wont change this car ever ...
