One plus 6 not connecting to Mobile data

can anyone assist please
spent 10 emails with Afrihost
hour in MTN store

cannot get my mobile data to connect
im got a One plus 6 and wifi and calls work but no mobile data

my sim works in other phones but other sims along with mine dont work in my phone
tried everything with oneplus support
all thats left is to hard reset which i am loathing to do

any advise?
 
Just to be sure, is APN ok? I have made some noise to Telkom in the past because mobile data was not connecting using an android phone only to realise later that the APN was the problem.
 
yes
afrihost APN was correct
and MTN guy used his sim and APN and didnt work
 
Then contacting afrihost might help. One time they did a "reset" for me and it connected again. I have only contacted them on whatasapp.
 
emailed them back and forth since Friday, amounting to over 10 emails
the standard reply i get is
" has it been resolved" ...not likely as they haven't done anything or called me
messaged Afriguy on here and he said he will look into it
 
does not sound like an apn issue if other sims dont work as well
 
is rebooting the phone safe to do and anything i need to make sure ive covered before i do?
