One-shotting a tank without a weapon?

I play BF4 on the Xbone and something peculiar happened.

I was cruising around in a heavy tank in 100% condition, then with no warning it suddenly just exploded. One shot. It showed the name of the dude that blew me up and the camera showed the guy running away, but the section showing the weapon used was empty.

Can anyone explain wtf happened?

I think that happens when an enemy shoots a friendly anti-tank mine in close proximity of your tank. The weapon used needs to be high-powered, such as any sniper rifle or a .44...
