Just got back from mtn, played around with the one X for the first time.
I'm stuck between these two phones.
The build quality on the HTC send better the p process are 50 apart.
Any advice on which one I should get?

Tough choice. Have you played with the S3 as well?

/if you can live without expansible storage or changeable battery. Then get the One X, It is better looking. :D

Go with your gut. Deep inside you already know which one you prefer, follow the light :p

But seriously, I would not be able to decide If I haven't played with both.

Someone I know had the s3 so I fiddled with that already.
Mtn never had a demo of the s3 except one that was fixed and connected to a LCD. The only thing I could not do was good both in My hand at the same time.
The s3 camera is better but this is not a deciding factor for me.

I have the desire HD and prefer HTC.

You are right deep down I want the one x, the only thing is the non removable battery and no card slot, if the HTC had that I would have left with the phone but now I'm not so sure. For me the included storage is enough, but the option to expand is always welcome.

Both phones operate smoothly, but the one X is much more pleasant to use.
I don't wanna be caught wishing I'd taken the other one.

Decisions!

Sense is a pleasure to use. Much better than touchwizz. So the One X.

Lifes full of "what ifs" just pick the one u like best.
Personally the non removable batterys a kak one, there r times my nexus just needed a pull, but the lack of expandable storage is no biggie.

You should decide whats important to you.

I was in the same position as you. These are the things which for me personally choose the S3

1. Bigger and removable batter
2. MicroSd card slot
3. Smart Stay (absolutely love this feature)
4. Processor seems to be faster (from the reviews i read)

They both good phones. Decide whats important for you.

My brother brought me an S3 from Dubai today. I was humming and hahing between the One x and S3. Preferred everything about the One x EXCEPT.....No expandable storage. While I will probably never use more than the One X offers I just didnt feel comfortable not having that option.

Its no biggie though because I have been playing around with my brand spanking new S3 all night and its super slick. Very happy.

Just re-read my opening post,Swype really messed that up lol.
Think I'll go with my gut and take the one x, hopefully I never need a battery pull.

The majority of people will not use more than the 32Gb's available, so lack of removable storage wasn't even a factor for. As for the non-removable battery, the HTC One X can be reset even if it freezes, you are able to cycle the power by holding in the power button, making the removable battery a non-issue.

Primary reasons why I picked the One X over the S3. Better screen, significantly better build quality and HTC Sense UI.

Again, it's personal preference. If you need 33Gb's of space and the ability to remove your battery, the One X is not for you.

Here have a 9 page comparison, with benchmarks and all

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_iii_vs_htc_one_x-review-759.php

HTC One X over Samsung Galaxy S III
  • Impressive polycarbonate unibody
  • Brighter IPS LCD2 screen with a full set of subpixels
  • Beats Audio
  • Already on the market
  • Likely a bit cheaper

Samsung Galaxy S III over HTC One X
  • Bigger screen - 4.8" over 4.7"
  • Higher display contrast and better sunlight legibility
  • More storage options - 16/32/64GB + microSD over non-expandable 32GB
  • S Voice natural language commands and dictation
  • S Beam for easy and fast file transfers
  • User-accessible 2100mAh battery over non-removable 1800mAh battery
  • 1.9MP front-facing camera with Smart Stay
  • Videos shot with 30fps framerate over 24fps

Read that comparison before, wanted some user input.

Anyway I'm typing this as my first post with the one x. Never had a chance to really mess around with the phone yet, just started installing the necessary apps.

I'm impressed with the screen, but then again the desire hd is not that hard to beat, and I still have to test the performance during the day.

The screen of the S3 leaves much to be desired. It's quality isn't great and it's colours aren't good at all. My Sensation's screen might not be as vibrant, but it's certainly more accurate than the S3. The S3's screen has quite a strong blue hue to it. One disadvantage of the AMOLED Pentile matrix the S3 uses.

I'd go for the HTC One X...

Yeah went for the One X, very impressed with the screen, downloaded some hd trailers and it looks really good.

The sound of the phone is great as well, but again, this is in comparison to a desire hd and 9700.

I like the beats enhancement, more of a gimmick though as I think it turns down the quality more when you switch it off if you know what I mean, but there is also a boost when you switch it on, HTC just made the gap seem greater.

I just bought an S3 coz on paper its slightly better (battery mostly). Waiting for delivery. I regret it now that I've had a chance to play around with the S3 this weekend. Touchwiz is soooooo bad. Sense >>> Touchwiz. Almost can't see the improvement over the S2. And what's up with that stupid key in the middle?

Anyway. I'm gonna root and get an AOSP rom.
