At the right price I would be keen.I'm selling my OP5 shortly if that's also of interest to you. Not a single blemish on it anywhere.

True especially with the rarity of the brand in the South African market it's not easy to find. The only thing for me it's a bit more then I'd want to spend for a 5 as it's 2 models older and the latest model sells for 600 dollars on gearbest.I had R7k in mind as a fair price for both parties. The specs are still insane, local phone prices are diabolical, as mentioned it's in mint condition and any amount below that is probably worth less than just keeping it as a spare.

I get your point so a oneplus 6 for 10k locally is also fair. I haven't heard of forwarding so never thought to use it. Specifically mentioned gearbest as lots of forum users have purchased phone's using the site.Overseas prices vs. ours have always been frustrating. If you have a means of importing cheaply or for free then no local deal can touch that.
Ordinary costs of importing adds 9% duty, then 15% VAT on the principal amount + duties and then the consignment fee from the courier. Why do you mention Gearbest specifically? Is there something different regarding imports with them compared to buying directly from OnePlus and shipping via a US-based mail forwarding service?

Thanks for the heads up. I also have family members going to China next month so that could be another option. I see 7 grand to be a market price for the oneplus 5 if you can find it.Mail forwarding is simply a service that can receive parcels on your behalf and then allow you to send it to yourself from there. This is useful when certain sites don't support sending items to SA. Stackry and MyUS are amongst the most popular such services.
R10k for an OP6 is a fantastic price. It typically costs more like R11-12k after importing costs. R10k is 43% more than R7k though. If your budget is that high then my device probably isn't what you're looking for.
Best of luck with whichever route you go!
