Onkyo TX - NR609 on Amazon

I've searching for a decent AV receiver for a while now but can't over the fact that we are so badly being ripped off in this department in SA.

A search on Amazon found the link below with the receiver in question going for about $390 (+/- R3000)

A online search found a SA online Audio Visual store website selling the same product for R9990 :wtf: and I'm sure a trip down to my local AV store will produce similar results.

So I'm seeking some advice on the best option to source this receiver from Amazon with the least hassles.

Is that the price of shipping alone or the total price including shipping?
 
I was also looking at the same thing.
But my only problem is customs when it gets here.
Also will the plug/power not be a problem with the US being 110V??
 
I just worked it out and it comes to R5,260.40 before tax.

Anyone know what the tax on electronics is?

Was hoping to find out the same thing.

Does anyone have experience with myus.com for this type of thing, would like to know how the price compares.
 
Personally I'd rather source it from the UK/Europe then you don't have to worry about the power supply.

They can generally be had for GBP380 if you look around.


FWIW the 2012 replacement model is the NR616 recently launched, but not a whole lot different.
