While reading another thread, I thought of online backup. What options are there? If its not too expensive, I will use it, just for the comfort of being able to acces everything I have on my work pc and home pc, anywhere in the world. I know that the initial uploading wil take time and eat bandwidth, but from then onwards it wont take that much.

can a mod pls delete this thread? After posting I saw many backup threads.

What type of files?
Im about to use Google drive for my documents...dont see the need to have all these different cloud servers. If you have a gmail account then use drive...keep it simple.

I agree. I use Google to backup all my data form photos to videos, documents, etc.

Just a rule of thumb. Never use any online backups as your data is not safe. What I mean by that is the government can at any chance tell them to release any data and you won't be safe. Rather have a dedicated nas or so. I know it will cost more but I will rather do my own backups. I've been trying to warn people against that. Let me rather not start something here but i'm just saying the whole Cloud thing is a bunch of bs. The only cloud I'm willing to support is a Private cloud.

I've used Spideroak online backup for a few years now without any problems. It's very secure.
