Hi,

My wife and I are both with a certain bank. She had to give them proof of residence last week(Although this was given twice already).

Since then, my personal cheque account is now showing on her profile. She can make payments from my account.

Now, I don't want to notify them and let them silently correct this obvious security problem. The question is, is my account or other peoples accounts, perhaps also linked to wrong profiles?

I can always let my wife transfer a couple of thousands from my account, this coming payday, and then I cry "fowl" and phone them to inform that money is missing from my account. I would still get the sms that money has been taken from my account.

Any suggestions?

Why don't you want to notify them of an obvious security problem? :wtf:

I want to make a big fuss about it.

If you read the paygate story, you will notice that banks does not have to inform any clients. I know my issue is different, but, they will probably just sweep it under the rug and nothing will come from it after they fixed the mistake.

Standard Bank. I'm pretty sure they shred every 2nd FICA documents they get their hands on. The rest they just lose.

I applied for a duplicate cheque card for my wife at my local FNB, we both had to sign paper work, and when they gave her the card, made her sign for it. A few months later, I get an SMS the card is cancelled as it is a duplicate. I go back in to the bank to ask wtf? They say the card was a duplicate in my name not her name. ?!?! But front of the card did not have a name printed on it, and why would they insist she sign for it when they issued it to us?

Also did Fica 3 times with them.... documents lost?
